Paige Crawford, former accidental socialite, has managed to shed her Z-list celebrity status and pull her life into a semblance of normalcy. But more importantly, she’s close to proving to her family and herself that she can make it on her own. That is, until she’s fired from her job and left with no choice but to leave London behind for good. She hops on a plane headed home to Canada, only to decide to give herself one more chance to make it before hers becomes a life of "I told you so's." So instead of walking onto her connecting flight, she leaves JFK Airport and steps into the wilds of New York City, where she soon learns her misadventures have only just begun. And while she juggles writing a popular blog, locating a missing male model, and a sexy new boss who reminds her a little too much of home, Paige is about to learn that “making it” has nothing to do with where you end up, but everything to do with how you get there.

About the Author
Growing up in Edmonton, Canada, a significant amount of Stephanie’s time was spent making up and acting out stories. She was studying to be an actress when she realized there weren’t any parts for women being written. So, Stephanie wrote herself a short screenplay just to be in it and quickly realized that writing was her true passion. She graduated from the University of Alberta with an English and Sociology degree and she also has a Bachelor of Motion Picture Arts (that’s a fancy term for Film School) from Red Deer College. After a fateful trip to Mexico in 2006, Stephanie decided to move to New York City to work in film development. A year later she went back home to write My Green House, a factual TV series. Stephanie moved to London in 2008 and aside from being obsessed with Eggs Benedict, Fruit Roll Ups and traveling, she also works in Children’s Television.

Wanting a New Chick Lit Author to Discover ?
By Paula L. Phillips
After reading The Accidental Socialite and really enjoying it, when I saw that the author had released Book #2 I was looking forward to reading what new mayhem Paige would get up to or at least find herself in the middle of. In Book #2 Paige has been made redundant from her job and with only seven months left on her visa, she has no other option than to return back home to Canada. While on her way home, she ends up having a disaster of a time on the plane in Coach and finds herself bumped up to first class where she meets Tyler - a rich and wealthy businessman from New York. On a whim, Paige decides to stick around New York and of course she doesn't have her visa so has the "Fake it while you can" mentality. During her seven months , she will gather a few under the table payment jobs , meet some new friends - some great and supportive whereas others are just creepy , have some odd roommates that won't allow her bacon or wine and of course being a writer - Paige starts a blog about living in New York without a visa. Like most blogs , once someone finds it interesting - it is retweeted and reddit and with the world of social media it goes viral and soon everyone is asking the question of "who is this Accidental New Yorker " ? Can Paige risk being revealed or will she use her blog to her advantage in trying to score a visa ?

If you love books that hold a reality TV show or blogging feel to them and you love the added factor of a realistic klutzy human and wanting a bit of fun to read , then check out "The Accidental New Yorker" which will have you laughing in places , cringing in others and sometimes feeling sorry for the messes Paige finds herself in.

Fun flirty New Adult tale
By V. Rundell of V's Reads
My Review:
Paige Crawford is all about serendipity. She is impetuous and spontaneous and always looking at life in a “glass half full” sort of way. She stumbled into a journalist job, quite literally, while staying in London, and now that she’s let go, she has to return to Canada. But, en route to Edmonton, she gets a happy curve ball.

Paige meets the attractive Tyler Shaw on her trans-Atlantic flight. Tyler happens to be rather wealthy, and he is enchanted by Paige’s self-deprecating stories of her time in London. She also wins bonus points for not approaching him like a gold digger, and Tyler invites Paige to look him up up if she stays in NYC. It’s a sign, Paige is certain.

She decides to extend her two-hour layover…indefinitely. This savvy traveler lands a room in an apartment in Spanish Harlem and sets down some immediate roots by way of an air mattress and a blog detailing her 182 days as an “Accidental Immigrant”. Paige and Tyler connect and have some laughs, pretty much the same life as her previous London one–hitting odd clubs and enjoying inebriated shenanigans.

Thing is, as the days dwindle and Paige’s prospects for a visa dry up one by one, she has some tough choices to make regarding her future. Can she convince a man to marry her? Could she PAY a man to marry her? Is living in NYC, ultimately, the life she wants? It’s a fun romp with some deep soul-searching and a bit of heartbreak. Don’t expect any steamy scenes, but Paige is a fun MC and her life is just outrageous enough to be entertaining.

The fun continues
By Letty (CovertoCoverBookBlog)
In the Accidental Socialite, we met Paige and followed her on her adventure full of mishaps and awkward moments. Now, we learn that she has lost her job and with her visa soon to expire, there’s no point in going job searching, so she resigns herself to moving back home.

After a gross mishap and a chance meeting on the plane from London to New York, Paige decides to follow her gut and a change of plans occurs. What will happen if she decides to stay in New York for a bit? Will she get in trouble?

Taking a chance, she follows an impulse and embarks on a new adventure. Living on her scarce funds, she struggles while looking for a job and shelter. She realizes the cost of living is not easy and she also has to deal with the homeless.

Just like in London, there is never a shortage of adventures and unfortunate situations. But Paige is a survivor and never gives up. But, will she be able to make it this time or will she decide that going back home is the only option?

This book, just like the one before it, is full of comedy and moments that will make you cringe when you see the situations that Paige manages to get herself into. The writing is easy to follow and flows well. I hope there is a third book to know what happens with Paige and whether she finds her HEA.
